S8768 - Contextual Product Search with Vectorized Part Descriptions

Session Description

Learn how GPU acceleration helped solve a challenge faced by many manufacturing companies; how to build analytics atop a parts catalog spanning multiple decades and generations of divergent part numbering structures. Naïve text search methods fail to capture subtle hierarchical indicators that drastically affect the meaning of a part description. In this talk, we review the use of Natural Language Processing methods to layer deep context over a 1.3 million item catalog. Neural networks are used to develop vectorized representations of an industry-specific vocabulary, with GPU acceleration enabling the generation of more refined semantic models.
